Gallery KK is an upgraded version of the Gallery & Photo editor app included on KitKat (Android 4.4).

Gallery KK aims to provide a top-notch gallery experience for any Android phone or tablet. This app is particularly useful for Nexus or Android One devices that lost the classic gallery app after upgrading to Lollipop (Android 5.0). The developers are actively working on improving compatibility to support even more devices.

What are tags? What are they used for?

Tags are keywords that you can attach to your photos to categorize and organize them. The built-in tag editor makes managing them quick and easy. You can view all your photos classified by tags in the Tags view. You can even import tags from the photos in your gallery. Rest assured that tags are stored in the metadata of your photos and won't be lost if you uninstall the app.

What are Action Buttons? How can I customize them?

Action buttons refer to the two buttons that appear at the bottom of the full picture view. You can customize these buttons by going to "Settings → Pictures → Action Button (left/right)" and assigning your favorite quick actions like edit, delete, crop, rotate, etc. If you prefer, you can disable them to better suit your needs.

How can I move or copy files between albums?

Unfortunately, this functionality has not been integrated into the current version. However, you can use compatible third-party apps like "Gallery Folder Plugin" by "Tatuas Apps". Find it here.

Why are there ad banners within the app?

Ads help us generate revenue and fund further improvements and new features for the app. If you prefer an ad-free experience, you can remove the ads with a convenient in-app purchase ("Remove ads"). Please note that we personalize content and ads based on device identifiers and share such information with our advertising partner (Google Admob) and analytics platform (Google Analytics). By using this app, you're acknowledging and accepting these policies. The in-app purchase ("Remove ads") also disables the sharing of information with our analytics partner.

Why is the approximate location (network-based) permission requested?

In the Locations view, your photos (if geotagged) are sorted based on their proximity to you.
